Our commitment
Fox Skylights Leicester wants foxskylightsleicester.co.uk to be usable by every visitor it can reach, including people who use screen readers, magnification, voice control, a keyboard instead of a mouse, or who find dense pages hard going. This statement covers this website only.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. WCAG is the international standard, and it is the one the Equality Act 2010 expects service providers to work towards when they offer a service online.
What we have done
The site is built with accessibility in mind from the start. In particular:
- Pages use proper headings in order, so a screen reader user can jump through a page by topic.
- Text and background colours are chosen for strong contrast, and the text can be enlarged in the browser without losing content or function.
- Photos carry text descriptions where they add information.
- Links say where they go, and links and buttons show a visible focus outline when you tab to them.
- Navigation, including the menu on a phone, can be used with a keyboard.
- Tables are kept short enough to fit a phone screen without sideways scrolling.
- Moving elements respect the reduced motion setting on your device.
- Content is written in plain English, and we explain trade words such as rooflight and lantern when they first appear.
Known limits
Some parts of the site depend on services we do not build ourselves, and we cannot promise they meet every WCAG point.
| Area | Limit |
|---|---|
| Enquiry form | Third-party CRM, our control is partial |
| Contact page map | Map tiles are not fully screen reader friendly |
| Older photos | Some descriptions may be brief |
| WhatsApp chat | Runs in the WhatsApp app, not on our site |
The enquiry form
The enquiry form is supplied by Mortaro CRM and embedded in the page. We have chosen it with accessibility in mind, but we do not control all of its code, so some labels, error messages or focus behaviour may not reach level AA in every browser. If the form gives you trouble, do not struggle with it. Call us on 0116 430 0516, email info@foxskylightsleicester.co.uk or message us on WhatsApp at 07880 284133 with your name, the property address and what you want done, and we will take the enquiry that way. We will give you the same service whichever route you use.
The map
The map on the contact page is an interactive map built from OpenStreetMap tiles. Maps of this kind are hard to use with a keyboard or screen reader. The information you need is on the page as text instead: we are a service-area business covering about 30 miles around Leicester, we have no public premises, and you can reach us by phone, email or WhatsApp.
Other formats and ways to reach us
If you would like information from this site, such as a guide to planning permission and Building Regulations, in another format such as large print, a plain text version or an audio description, ask us and we will do our best to supply it. We can also talk a quote through by WhatsApp message, voice note or email if reading a form is awkward for you, and we can agree a survey visit time that works for you.
Reporting a problem
If you find something on the site that you cannot read, use or reach, please tell us. Email info@foxskylightsleicester.co.uk or message us on WhatsApp. Tell us the page address, what you were trying to do, and the device, browser or assistive technology you were using if you know it. We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 3 working days and to give you a plan or a fix as soon as we can after that.
If you are not happy with our response
You can use our complaints procedure. If you are in Great Britain and still feel we have not dealt with your concern, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service, which gives free advice on discrimination and equality rights. In Northern Ireland, the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland does the same job.
