What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to keep. Some are needed to make a page work. Others measure visits or show advertising. Similar technologies, such as local storage and tracking pixels, do the same sort of job, and this policy covers them too.
The rules come from the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), read alongside UK GDPR. In short, we may set cookies that are strictly necessary without asking you, and we must ask for your consent before setting anything else.
What this site sets today
Fox Skylights Leicester, at foxskylightsleicester.co.uk, sets no analytics cookies and no marketing or advertising cookies. We do not run tracking pixels, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not share browsing data with advertisers.
Because of that, the site does not show a cookie banner asking you to accept tracking. There is nothing to accept.

Strictly necessary storage
The web platform that runs this site may set a basic technical cookie or use session storage to keep a page working, for example to remember a setting for the length of your visit. These do not identify you and are exempt from the consent rule because the site cannot function properly without them. They expire when you close your browser or after a short period.
The enquiry form
Our enquiry form is provided by Mortaro CRM, a third-party system embedded on the page. It collects the details you type in so we can reply, as described in our privacy policy. The form may use technical storage so that it can submit your message and guard against spam. We do not use it to track you across other websites. If that ever changes, we will update this page and ask for consent first.
The map on our contact page
The contact page shows a map built from OpenStreetMap tiles. Loading the map asks the tile server for image squares, which means your IP address is passed to that server in the ordinary way for any web request. The map does not set tracking cookies.
WhatsApp links
The WhatsApp button on the site is a link. Nothing is sent to WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta, until you click it and open a chat. Once you do, WhatsApp handles that conversation under its own terms and privacy notice.
If we add analytics later
The owner may add Google Analytics in future to see how people use the site. If that happens, analytics cookies will not load until you have said yes. A cookie banner will appear with a clear accept and a clear decline option, and declining will not stop you using any part of the site. You will be able to change your mind afterwards, and this page will be updated to list each cookie, its purpose and how long it lasts.
Controlling cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you see, block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking all cookies can stop some sites working, but this one should carry on as normal. The government's guidance at gov.uk and your browser's help pages explain the steps for your device. You can also use your phone's privacy settings to limit advertising identifiers.
